PradaadDaadDaa

Prada was delightful. I possess a penchant for plaid, especially bright plaids, especially bright plaid that is paired with flirty little shift dresses. It was a cheeky collection, and DAMN am I obsessing over it. First of all: did Miuccia and Marc just have a little convo on fish scales? Or is this some sort of duel epiphany they had over the course of last season? Anyway, the scales are awesome. I loved the colors, the gloves, the plaids...It was a perfect collection!

The only part of this collection that makes me grimace is the sight of that terrible python. You've got this adorable schoolgirl outfit, with its oversized buttons and muted Mondrian print, and then the eye falls to the snakeskin boots and it's a complete disruption. On the other hand, I am not a fan of snakeskin, and can not help thinking that the pieces that use it are just out of place when looking at the entire collection.

The collection was actually cute, which is not something I typically associate with Prada. Prada is feminine, it's strong in material and shape, but it's never "girlish." That has always been Miu Miu it seems. I'M EXCITED FOR MIU MIU!!!

i actually really like the python like that, i love how she incorporated something typically "glamorous" in an unexpected, unconventional way. + i think it works with the reptilian/carnivalisic vibes i'm feeling with the fur & scales. the collection in general reminds me of some sort of modern eclectic paleolithic girl from outer space.

thanks for these little updates or else i would hardly keep up on fashion week...(; ̄д ̄)

I always wonder about this. Do trends just happen to be magical simultaneous epiphanies? Or are they planned among designers? Or are they just a result of copying each other? (I hope it's not the last one though).
